Beyond a Simple Classroom Screen Monitoring System

Blocksi has been a valuable tool in our classrooms! Training my staff to use the product was straightforward and simple, and they were able to get up to speed quickly. For us, the cost-to-feature ratio strikes a perfect balance. Blocksi addresses the need for student internet filtering on Chromebooks, while giving teachers insights into browsing history and the ability to monitor and manage student devices during class.

I really like being able to monitor my students' online activity in real time. Blocksi helps show students that they are accountable for their online activity during class. In many ways, they monitor each other almost better than I do — helping keep one another on task and accountable. Because of that, I feel more at ease working with small groups while other students are working independently at their computers.

I really like Assessment Mode — it locks students onto specific sites so they can't navigate away. The Policies feature is also useful: you can allow or block entire categories of websites without needing to know specific URLs. And pushing a website directly to students in the moment is easy, so they don't have to type a long URL or find it themselves.

We moved to Blocksi during COVID-19 when we had to send Chromebooks home with students and needed a filtering solution quickly — and we haven't looked back since. Teachers love being able to block and allow sites as needed, or stop everything with the Heads Up feature to get students' attention. Blocksi customer support is second to none, and they are constantly updating and improving to keep up with the world of education and implement suggestions from their clients.

The tools are user-friendly and easy to find — everything is visible and right there in plain view. Blocksi makes it easier to monitor my entire class and know that students are on task.

My favorite thing about Blocksi are the classroom management tools — being able to block websites and manage what students are doing. Blocksi gives us an easy, user-friendly way to monitor student activity and a much better resource for controlling which content is seen by students. The near-instantaneous allow/blocking with the Exception List has been amazing to use.

The Blocksi feature we find most helpful is the Class Scheduler. I love how students don't get stuck in another class if a teacher forgets to release them.
