Auto-Sync for Azure AD Users and Groups
We’re excited to announce the launch of Auto-Sync for selected Azure AD users and groups, making it easier than ever to keep your data up to date without manual effort. This new feature ensures your selected users and groups are automatically refreshed each night, improving efficiency and reducing ongoing maintenance. Now, users will find it even easier to enforce policies and manage filtering rules across their content filtering solution and Admin Dashboard.
What’s New: Daily Auto-Sync for Azure AD
The automatic sync feature runs nightly, ensuring that any imported users and groups are synced and updated without requiring manual intervention. This enhancement helps organizations maintain accurate, real-time data with minimal input, giving administrators more time to focus on other tasks. However, to ensure this feature works as intended, admins must grant the necessary permissions in Azure Active Directory, now known as Microsoft Entra ID.
Action Required: Grant Permissions
To enable the automatic sync for your Azure AD users and groups, you must grant the Directory.Read.All permission with Admin Consent to the Blocksi Azure AD app. This permission is essential for the nightly sync to run smoothly, allowing the Blocksi app to access and update selected users and groups from the Microsoft Graph API.
Without this permission, the nightly sync will not run, and your selected users and groups will not be updated. To enable this permission, follow these simple steps:
- Sign in to the Azure Portal.
- Navigate to App Registrations and select Blocksi Azure AD.
- Go to API Permissions.
- Select and grant the Directory.Read.All (application type) permission.
- Grant Admin Consent for this permission.
Once these steps are completed, your Azure AD environment will be set up for automatic syncing, ensuring your data stays updated without any additional effort.
